How to write Good lesson plan as a competent Teacher

SCHOOL: GOV'T DAY SEC, SCH, JALO WAZIRI, GOMBE.
SUBJECT: BIOLOGY
TOPIC: DENTITION IN HUMAN BEINGS
CLASS: SS II
NO OF STUDENTS: 50
AVERAGE AGE: 16-17 yes
TIME: 40 minutes
DATE: 4/4/2019
TEACHING METHOD: DISCUSSION AND DEMONSTRATION METHOD
INSTRUCTIONAL AID: MAGNETIC BOARD, MARKER,TEXTBOOK, AND A CHART SHOWING REPRESENTATION OF VARIOUS TYPES OF TEETH.

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The students had learned about the alimentary canal in their previous lesson, and they will be able to link it with the present objectives.

SPECIFIC BEHAVIOURAL OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson the students should be able to:
i- Define Dentition?
ii- Give two(2) types of teeth?
iii- Identify the dental formulae of human being?

INTRODUCTION: The teacher  introduces the lesson by asking students questions based on their previous knowledge as in; List three (3) parts of the alimentary canal? Students replies as; (1) mouth, (2) oesophagus, (3)stomach.
STAGE I:
TEACHER'S ACTIVITIES: The teacher defines dentition as:
DENTITION: Is the number and kinds of teeth present in a mammal and their arrangement in the lower and upper jawbones. It is related to the type of food a mammal eats.
STUDENT'S ACTIVITIES: Students  listen very attentively towards the teacher's definition of dentition. They understands the concept concisely.
STAGE II:
TEACHER'S ACTIVITIES: The teacher list two types of teeth  as;
TYPES OF TEETH:
We have two types of teeth, this include:
i- MILK TEETH: The milk teeth grows when the child is a few months old and ready to feed on solid food. It lasts for only a short time. There are 20 milk teeth.
ii- PERMANENT TEETH: This are the second set of teeth consist of 32 permanent teeth e.g the incisors, canine, premolars, and molars.
Teacher's Activities: The teacher identifies the types of teeth With the used of a chart showing various types of teeth and where they were located in the mouth precisely.
STUDENT'S ACTIVITIES: The students  identifies and understand different types of teet observes from the chart shown by the teacher clearly. They will also be able to distinguish between each and  every types of teeth with reason.
STAGE III:
TEACHER'S ACTIVITIES: The teacher identifies the dental formular of a human being:
The dental formulae shows the number and types of teeth an animal has in one half of each jaw. Different mammals have different dental formulae depending on their diet.
The dental formular of a human is:
(Upper jaw/lower jaw)= i= 2/2, c=1/1, pm= 2/2, m=3/3=16
NOTE: Each of the four types of teeth is indicated by its initial letter. The total number is obtained by multiplying the total number of teeth in the dental formulae by 2.
The teacher shows them physically using the chart.
STUDENT'S ACTIVITIES: The students learns the dental formulae demonstrated by the teacher and be able to comprehend it very well.
SUMMARY:
TEACHER'S ACTIVITIES: The teacher summarizes the lesson by revisiting the main objectives of the lesson.

STUDENT'S  ACTIVITIES: Students are capturing the main point of the lesson.
EVALUATION: The teacher evaluate the lesson by asking proposed questions as:
i. Define Dentition?
ii. Give two(2) types of  teeth?
iii. Identify the dental formulae of human being?
STUDENT'S ACTIVITIES: Students were given responses towards the teacher's questions correctly.
ASSIGNMENT: Give the dental formulae of the followings:
1. Rat
2.Rabbit
3.Dog
4.Goat
5.Cow
